As an estate agency working with people in the community everyday we are often in contact with individuals and families affected by dementia.

There are currently 900,000 people with a diagnosis of dementia in the UK which is forecast to rise to more than a million by 2025.

Last year, working with the Epping Forest Dementia Action Alliance and the Alzheimer’s Society, we started our journey to become dementia friends. We considered how Hammond and Smith could better support our customers, employees and the wider community who are affected by dementia and put in a plan of action which included staff training and charity fundraising.

In committing to a series of step changes we are proud to announce that Hammond and Smith have been awarded its dementia friendly status.

It’s our pledge to continue to support, understand and learn more about dementia to help improve the lives of people affected by it.
